Balkan Rhythms and Dance: Lecture, Workshop, Performance, and Exhibit. John and Galia Kuo, the leaders of the Chicago-based ensemble Balkan Dances, will give a lecture on Balkan music and dance rhythms. Ensemble Balkan Dance will teach guests the steps of the most popular Balkan dances and give a mini-performance. An exhibit of hand-made instruments and 19th-century folk costumes will be on display during the event.
